Are these frames authentic?

Yes. Every piece is verified against period catalogs, hallmark engravings, case markings, and known production years. We do not list reissues or replicas.

How do you authenticate vintage JPG, Hilton, Ettore Bugatti, Playboy, and Tiffany & Co. eyewear?

Jean Paul Gaultier is verified by reference numbers, temple engravings, hinge construction, and period-correct case and cloth. Hilton, Tiffany & Co., Ettore Bugatti, and Playboy are checked against the same documentation — production marks, signature hardware (including the period-correct Playboy bunny-logo temple), hinge construction, and period-correct finishes and cases.

What is the condition policy?

All eyewear is authentic vintage deadstock, sold as-is in original condition. These are rare, decades-old pieces — minor age-related imperfections may be present and are part of their character. Pieces that have been worn are labelled Vintage – Pre-Owned instead of Deadstock. All sales final.

Is 858Vintage affiliated with any of these brands?

No. 858Vintage is an independent reseller of authentic vintage eyewear. All designer brand names and trademarks are property of their respective owners. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by any brand or individual.

Do you ship from San Diego?

Yes. All pieces ship from San Diego, California — insured and packed in the original case where available. Domestic and international shipping available.

Vintage vs reissue — what's the difference?

A vintage frame is the original late-'80s, '90s, or early 2000s production. A reissue is a contemporary reproduction. 858Vintage only handles originals — once they're gone, they're gone.

How does payment work? Do you take credit cards?

Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App Pay and Link, plus pay-over-time with Affirm, Klarna or Afterpay — all processed by Stripe, so card details never touch this site. Your statement reads EEE INTL* 858VINTAGE. You get an email confirming the order, and the piece ships after that. For an in-person handoff or a direct order, contact us and we'll arrange payment with you.

Can I see a piece in person?
